When a word suggestion pops up, a voice says the word. It's driving me crazy...
It depends on iOS version, but generally you have to check:
Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice over... and/or Voice....
Test it.

Brand new iPhone 6s and and that voice has haunted me from the beginning, @ 1 month. I even turned the volume atw down and she still wouldn't shut up!. lol I found this discussion string and it blew me away when I found this answer. All these years later and this answer is still great. Thank you so much.

You forgot a step between Accessibility and Speak Auto-Text: you have to select Speech to get to Speak Auto-text. Thanks anyway. It helped.

Accessibility and Speak Auto-Text: you have to select Speech to get to Speak Auto-text, then typing feedback then turn Speak Auto Text Off.
